Knights of Columbus, Brother Anthony Council has completed another very active year in support of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism; the four main principles of our
order. As part of an order of Catholic men, which has more than 14,000 councils, we are supported greatly with information and programs which we use to continuously work in our local community. In
combination with a very creative group of 152 members, new activities and events are commonplace. We are blessed to have as our Council Chaplain, Father Karl who allows us to contribute to our Parish and
feeds us spiritually. We are also blessed that the Parish Council and the parish team work so well supporting our activities. Thank you all. Brother Anthony Council is completing its 10th
year since formation. There will be a grand celebration in early September to mark this event. Over the past 10 years Brother Anthony Council has been active in supporting the Parish by raising funds for major church projects. Some of these include the kitchen, the parking lot, and the landscaping to name a few. In the past two years we spent considerable energy raising funds to supply new pews ($22,000) to the church. We are pleased to see they arrived and we hope that they make the difference in getting more parishioners into the worship area. As a matter of unaudited record, Brother Anthony Council has contributed in excess of $250,000 to parish projects in the past 10 years. Congratulations Brothers.
As I complete my two years as Grand Knight this July, there are people to recognize and events to mention. We have had a term of change, saying thank you to Brother Roland Tailleur for years of service as
our Financial Secretary and welcoming our incoming F.S. Brother Del Feser. Brother Don Prefontaine left after many years as our Treasurer, (thank you for your service Don) and his shoes were filled by
Brother Gerald Martin. A new executive has been elected for next year which allows me the opportunity to welcome them, thank them for their openness to service and wish them all the best in the next term. As
for my executive group of the past 2 years, I thank you, and it is truly an honor to have worked with you. As for my Deputy Grand Knight, and your new Grand Knight Brother Eric Schickle, I pass on special
thanks for your effort and support and wish you all the best in the year to come. As truly a charitable organization Brother Anthony Council was active in the 5 main categories of Church, Community,
Council, Family Life and Youth. The following is a partial list of the activities completed in the past year:

at our Parish Youth Rally, provided funds for scholarships at local schools, provided funds for gifts for the parish Sunday children's Liturgy program.
Again we have had another busy year. At the State Convention for Alberta/NWT, 150+ councils, Brother Anthony was recognized with a First Runner-up for Council Activities for hosting the State Hockey
Tournament, and a Second Runner-up for Youth Activities for hosting the youth dinner at your parish youth Rally. Congratulations to Chairpersons Wayne Provencal, Gary Johnson and George Amyotte and all their
teams on a job well done. Congratulations to all Brothers who worked in all these and more events and to our most supporting wives for helping us make many of these events go off with class.
It has truly been my pleasure to serve Brother Anthony Council. Grand Knight Brian G. Lerner |
